As a child, one of my favorite toys was playdough. I loved creating new creatures and I was fascinated by the new colors I could create by kneading different colors together. This led to developing characters for little playdough scenes and stories I concocted in my head, and before long, playing with playdough evolved into a form of early storytelling. As we get older, we forget that playfulness is just another form of learning and instead see everything as work. So, while I may no longer have an inclination to pull out some playdough, I do have the inclination to play with new, creative writing prompts and see what I can create.
How can you tap into your playful side this week?
