Assessments Rubric

Assessment #1

Due Date: Between Training Sessions 8-12

For this assessment:

  • Your practice client can be one of your classmates or a practice client.
  • It cannot be a Design the Alliance session.
  • You will need to record a coaching session that is no more than 60 minutes.

Objectives

  • Discuss with your Coach Mentor specifically what you want to get out of your coach training.
  • Discuss how your coach training is going
  • Discuss how the Coach Mentor can support your goals
  • Listen to your session with your Coach Mentor
  • Get actionable feedback to implement moving forward

Because your recording may be the same length as your assessment appointment, know that you may not cover your entire recording.

Your first assessment aims to boost your coaching skills through meaningful conversation. It’s not about perfect recordings or hitting all markers on the first try. Embrace it as a chance for growth and learning.

This assessment focuses on the TIME model and the Professional and Empathetic essential coaching qualities and is graded on a pass or fail basis (1.0) and a Meets Standards/Does Not Meet Standards (2.0 & 3.0).

Assessment #2

Due Date: Between Training Sessions 12-16

For this assessment:

  • You will work with a practice client (it cannot be a classmate, friend, or family)
  • Record a coaching session that is no more than 60 minutes in duration.

This assessment focuses on all 7 of the Essential Coaching Qualities and is graded on a Meets Standards/Does Not Meet Standards basis.

Assessment #3

Due Date: Between Training Session 16-20

For this assessment:

  • You will work with a practice client (it cannot be a classmate, friend, or family)
  • Record a coaching session that is no more than 60 minutes in duration.

This assessment focuses on all 7 of the Essential Coaching Qualities and is graded on a Meets Standards/Does Not Meet Standards basis.

To successfully complete your course, you must complete all three assessment, and receive a ‘Meets Standards’ grade on either assessment #2 or #3 (1.0) or a ‘Meets Standards’ grade on any of the three assessment (2.0 & 3.0). If needed, you may schedule more assessment with your Coach Mentor until you meet this standard.
