Life Coach Salary
The typical Life Coaching Program earns a salary between $750 and $2500 for the program. John, for example, in Portland, Oregon charges $1650 for the 10-session Academic Life Coaching Program. Coaches in New York City and Boston can charge as much as $2000 to $2500 for the program. Other coaches in areas such as Seattle, Chicago or Los Angeles usually settle on a salary between $1500 to $2000. Rather than charging per hour for their services, we suggest that our coaches set a price for the whole Academic Life Coaching Program that includes text/email/phone support for the family and the teen.
The 10-session Life Coaching Program is the foundation of what a Certified Coach can offer families. Coaches can also offer additional services according to professional experience and special skills. That, along with geographic location and experience level, accounts for the difference in price points our coaches set for the program.
That depends on how many clients you work with and how often you schedule sessions. A coach can realistically work with a maximum client base of up to 25 to 40 students, averaging 50 to 80 sessions a month.
In the Fall of 2009, John had 42 current clients. As he said, “It was awesome that I had the ability to coach so many students, but I found that a client base over 40 is a huge challenge to manage with a high level of customer service. A much more comfortable range for me was – and still is – about 25 families.”
