Thinking about a desirable point in the future, one in which we’ve accomplished something important, is similar to setting an intention. We’ve visualized its completion and what our life might be like should we accomplish that goal, now all we need to do is get there. This kind of thinking can help us make more judicious decisions in the present, setting us up for success later in life.
