Relationship Coach Certification & Training

Relationship coaches are professionals who partner with individuals, pairs, or groups to help them obtain better relational skills. They help people create healthier workplaces, stronger families, and a deeper sense of personal wellness.

There are as many different relationship coaching niches as types of relationships, including: co-dependency, recovery, marriage, pre-engagement, prosperity, dating, relationship repair, spiritual, spouse and partner, parent and child, professional relationship management, family dynamics, intimacy and sexuality, divorce coaching, senior relationships, and adolescent relationships.

Coach Training EDU’s course allows you to mold your training to meet the needs of any personal and/or professional relationship you can imagine.

Coaches are required to submit three coaching recordings to their Coach Mentor for feedback and review, earning a score of “meets standards” or higher on at least one. You must attend 14 of the 16 scheduled training sessions and complete at least 5 coaching sessions with at least one relationship-based pair as a practice client.

The class meets once a week for two hours. Each class is broken into three parts: an open discussion on the week’s relationship topic, alternating practice time and case studies for real-world application, and a knowledge check-in review.

People who want to improve a relationship with a colleague, build stronger communication with a spouse or partner, rebuild a relationship after a fallout, seek a romantic partner and want a healthy beginning, develop a new relationship with an adolescent or young adult child, improve their intimacy, navigate changing family dynamics such as adoption or blended families, or work through a contemplated or recent divorce.

Yes. CTEDU is accredited by the International Coaching Federation at both Level 1 and Level 2. The Relationship Coaching specialization adds to your total training hours toward ACC, PCC, and MCC credentials.

Saturate yourself with education in the relationship coaching space. Choose a specific coaching niche. The more specialized your practice, the more likely you are to attract clients. Create a coaching business plan laying out your strategy. And practice: early in your career, find as many practice clients as possible to grow personally, network, and hone your skills.

No prior coaching experience is required. The 1.0 program provides foundational coaching skills, and the Relationship Coaching specialization builds on that foundation. Despite their niche, every coach will likely work with a client who experiences relationship struggles, understanding the basics of relationship management is crucial.
