All the Broken Plates

All the Broken Plates

The Powerful Paragraph

One of my favorite images is of a man standing on a stage in front of hundreds of people juggling ceramic plates. Behind the curtain, however, you can see all of the broken plates it took for him to master his skill. It’s unfortunate, but we often need to stink at something before we can get really good at it. And the effort to persevere after every broken plate is bravery in action. So, when you reach a goal, don’t forget to look back at all the broken plates that helped you get there.

The Powerful Question to Ponder

How can you acknowledge yourself for what’s behind the curtain?

There is more than silence in the silence. Silence is far more than the absence of talking, the absence of movement, the absence of activity. Silence, the creation of space between words and between thoughts, is like an expansive sky between clouds where a wider view can be seen.
