Educators can be seen as the first responders to the future generation, and they need our care and support in order to thrive. In this workshop, Academic Life Coaches Meghan Raftery and LouAnne Metzger apply coaching philosophy and the concept of Ikigai to the specific needs of educators, and discuss how coaching can be so crucial to addressing their pain points. The Japanese concept of Ikigai roughly translates into your reason for being, and it is the framework they use for helping educators set goals, identify and explore pathways, and develop a sense of agency.
LouAnne Metzger has been a teacher and administrator for 33 years, is an Academic Life Coach, and believes in empowering, invigorating, and liberating educators. Meghan Raftery is a trainer, curriculum developer, and Academic Life Coach, and believes in cultivating a breadth and depth of experience both inside and outside of education.
In this workshop you will learn:
-Educator pain points: How to market and support educators through life coaching
-High-leverage coaching tools: How to support educator growth and well-being using your current toolkit
-Connecting with clients: How to find and support educators within your sphere of influence
Potent questions explored in this workshop are:
-Why do educators need you as their coach?
-How do we help teachers now in a way that is sustainable, that's going to move them forward and to continue to create this thriving next generation?
-How might we use Ikigai to help educators set goals, identify and explore pathways, and develop a sense of agency?
