What if . . .

What if . . .

The Powerful Paragraph

As a writer, the phrase “what if” is not only common but welcome. What if Character A decides to steal the cursed jewel? What if Character B accidentally witnesses a horrific crime? Asking “what if” is a fun way to experiment with new ideas and push the plot forward. Unfortunately, “what if” outside of fiction often carries with it negative connotations. What if they think I look silly? What if I can’t achieve this goal? What if it doesn’t work out? The phrase is linked to worry and anxiety about things we can’t control and likely have not occurred yet. But WHAT IF we flipped this phrase’s negativity on its head and anticipated the best possible outcome for ourselves? What might that look like?

The Powerful Question to Ponder

What if it works out exactly as you want it to?
