The Power of Poetry

The word poetry comes from an extremely common ancient Greek word poiAtAs, meaning to make. Since the beginning of words, humans everywhere have acknowledged their power to share ideas, create emotion, and express beauty. Words have the power to hurt as well as to heal. And the words we soak in eventually make their way to our core.
