When I present about the definition of coaching, I always speak about the importance of building self-awareness first. This is because we can’t truly define and pursue goals without doing the work to discover what it is we truly want from our lives. The problem with self-awareness is that everyone has blind spots, whether they be people, distractions, or vices, that prevent us from becoming self-aware. More often than not, we know that the blind spot exists, yet we hesitate to address or change it for any number of reasons; not doing so, however, can prevent us from moving forward and reaching our true potential.
Where might you be lacking self-awareness?
