For my birthday this year, I decided to take a mental health day and fill the day with things that I love. I got in a good workout, went to a bookstore, did a little writing, and got some Thai food and some sushi. It was an all-around excellent day. And when it ended, I realized that part of the reason I felt so much elation was because I so rarely do things like that for myself. It got me thinking about how I could micro dose little things for myself throughout my whole day so that I could still reap the benefits of the positive emotions. And while it’s a work in progress, I can already see how adding a little bit of “me-time” into every day boosts my mood and happiness.
How can you incorporate small moments of “me-time” throughout your day?
