Our negative emotions are not a continuous state of mind to escape but rather alarms telling us to take a break and reflect.

Sadness reminds us of what matters

Anger shows us where we think there is injustice

Fear warns us that maybe we are doing the wrong thing

Guilt tells us to check how we may be breaking our own value. The trick is to distinguish when it’s a false alarm clouded by our own perception and when it’s something to act upon.
