In a recent coach-training session, one of the coaches-in-training asked me what it took for me to get into a flow state. I loved the question because I never really took into consideration what circumstances I required before I could feel a state of flow. After considering her question, I realized that I needed guilt-free time that’s already been set aside and a clean environment free of distractions. Without these two things, I find it very difficult to enter a state of flow. While this should seem intuitive, I’d never done the work to identify what I needed, and with this knowledge, I aim to make some adjustments to my work to better enable myself to enter a state of flow.
