Dan Haddow on Academic Coaching During The Global Pandemic

April 10, 2020 by John Andrew Williams

To extend our community even more, we’re opening up channels to have current and past coaches in training to submit Powerful Paragraphs.

The following submission was sent to us by Dan Haddow who is currently enrolled in our 1.0 Academic Life Coaching Course. If you’re interested in submitting your own powerful paragraph for our blog, please visit your class page and follow the link to submit a powerful paragraph.

“So, we are facing some new norms in K-12 education today throughout the world, it lead me to create an “Agenda” for school leaders where the TIME Agenda Model (seems like all we have in common today is time!) was used for school leaders and facilitators. As they begin having crucial conversations with the various stakeholder groups an outline was created for their use. This outline for their considerations used some guiding questions taking from the “Academic Life Coach” book by John Williams and an immediate response from a school leader was, “Wow! This is wonderful. I can use this TIME Framework/Outline with the guiding probes not only now but as a guiding document in the Future.” Keep going everyone as it appears academic coaching is now a blend with Pandemic Coaching. This leads to the creation of some new lexicon: “Panacademic coaching.” Stay healthy everyone! Stay together….”Dan Haddow, CTEDU Coach in Training
