Loneliness is a state of mind, and it can be one of the most painful feelings a human being can endure. What makes it worse is that it can affect us in numerous ways, including exhaustion, moodiness, lack of appetite, and it can even make us sick. All people feel it to different degrees at different junctures in life, but for some the condition feels chronic. Whether these feelings are fleeting or ever-present, there is no time like today to examine where these feelings are coming from and how you can find healing.

A group coaching setting brings an entirely different dynamic to the coaching process. It means dealing with different perspectives and emotions, all at once, and juggling them with the care you would for just one client. You are not only focusing on entering one person’s world with deep listening, you now seek to be present for a number of people and help them all reach their collective (and sometimes individual) goals.

The elevator pitch — the term that captures how you’ll explain your service to a potential client in a hypothetical 30-second elevator ride. Whether or not you live or work in a high-rise, opportunities for elevator pitches abound when you’re putting yourself out there and even when you’re not.

As coaches, we often serve as mirrors. Our goal is not to provide counsel or answers, but sometimes simply to reflect back what someone says or to ask a curious question to help someone “hear themselves.” A question that comes up a lot in coaching has to do with assumptions: What assumptions do you think you might be making in that situation/relationship/thought?
