In Powerful Paragraphs

As a life coach who has coached, as well as listened to, over 6000 hours of coaching, I’ve heard a lot. From meaningful insights to intense pain and breakthroughs. I’ve heard people articulate their life’s purpose with such elegance and emotion and clarity that all doubt is pushed away. And I’ve noticed a stunning pattern when someone articulates their life purpose: it’s not about them. The most compelling purposes, the ones that give a client and a coach and others goosebumps, are always about the benefits ones work does for someone else.

What’s your life’s purpose?

This Powerful Paragraph is based on an earlier exploration of Carol Ryff’s 1989 study on the six dimensions of well-being. Find the original study abstract here.
